Breaking News!

Bridging the Gap on November 7-8, 2011, has exciting additions to the agenda that were not included in the original brochure.

First, Marjorie McColl Petty, Regional Director of US Department of Health and Human Services, has asked to provide attendees with the latest news about the impact of the Heath Care Affordability Act on mental health. You will not want to miss her insights.

In addition, Mental Health Connection will present the Ken Barr Award to TCU in recognition of the university's five-year sponsorship of the Bridging the Gap symposiums.

Finally, Seth Verry will join Ellen Kagen in facilitating the collaborative planning work during the Symposium. Seth has 15 years experience advising executives at large global companies on change management and strategic planning.  He is a recognized, award-winning expert on the subject of growth strategy. Seth co-authored the March 2008 Harvard Business Review cover story, "When Growth Stalls," which won the prestigious McKinley Award for most enduring HBR article of the year. With Ellen and Seth as leaders of the planning session, the work promises to be fun, energetic and productive.

On the first day, demographer Steve Murdoch will present the picture behind the numbers from the 2010 census. What will our community be like over the next few years? What will these numbers mean to mental health care in Tarrant County?

On the second day, attendees will have an opportunity to participate in interactive sessions that will lead to the future of mental health care in Tarrant County. As Mental Health Connection completes its most recent five-year strategic plan, community members will begin looking at the next five years. Where should Mental Health Connection focus its efforts and resources for the next five years?

And to bring it all together throughout the Symposium, Four Day Weekend is returning by popular demand. You won't want to miss their take on the numbers and the planning.

Don't miss your chance to have your voice heard about the future of mental health in our community. For 2011 Bridging the Gap Symposium registration form, click here.
